Make Your Vote Count—and Your Steps Too!

Election Day is Tuesday November 5, and it’s time to exercise your right to vote! Voting is a civic duty and a privilege, one that reminds us of the freedoms we enjoy. On Election Day, many of us have been given a little extra time—a day off or an extended break from work—to cast our ballot. Why not take advantage of the moment to not only exercise your vote but also do some physical exercise at one of our beautiful parks nearby.

In St. Johns County, several polling locations are close to parks. After voting, take a walk, run, or just enjoy a refreshing breather in nature. Here’s a look at some nearby parks where you can relax and recharge, courtesy of the St. Johns County GIS Division.

A Shared Decision We Can All Support

1. Treaty Park: Located close to several polling sites, Treaty Park offers scenic walking trails, open fields, and a calm atmosphere where you can unwind. Take a stroll around the pond or stretch your legs on the paths after heading to the polls.

2. Veterans Park: If you’re voting nearby, head to Veterans Park for a quick workout or a pickleball game. This park has great courts, fitness station, and turf fields, so you can keep that Election Day energy going.

3. Palencia Park: Nestled near some of the county’s polling places, Palencia Park is perfect for a post-vote walk. This quiet, wooded area has trails and fields where you can soak in the fresh air and take a moment to reflect on the decision you just made for your community.

4. Nocatee Preserve: If your polling place is nearby, the Nocatee Preserve offers extensive walking trails and beautiful natural scenery. Bring a friend, take in the sights, and get a bit of exercise after casting your vote.
