At the St. Johns County Parks Foundation, our mission is clear: To enhance access to St. Johns County Parks and Recreation’s facilities, programs, and services for all residents. As we grow, we’re proud to welcome three outstanding individuals to our Board of Directors—each bringing a unique blend of professional expertise, personal commitment, and community perspective that will help us further that mission.

Robert Brown
News Director at WJXT Channel 4
A Jacksonville native with a distinguished career in journalism, Robert brings not only professional excellence but also a strong commitment to public service. From his early days at The Florida Times-Union I Jacksonville.com to his Emmy-winning work and leadership roles in Florida’s top newsrooms, he has consistently focused on telling stories that uplift and inform the community. Now, as he returns home to Northeast Florida, Robert joins the SJC Parks Foundation to help guide our mission. We’re thrilled to have his expertise and community insight as we continue moving the Foundation forward in both growth and impact.

Henry Dean
Attorney, Henry Dean & Associates
With decades of service in environmental law, public policy, and conservation, Henry Dean is a name synonymous with stewardship in Florida. In 1984, he negotiated the purchase of the Guana River Preserve on behalf of the former Florida Department of Natural Resources—protecting one of the region’s most cherished public lands. He later served as Executive Director of both the St. Johns River and South Florida Water Management Districts, leading landmark restoration projects and conservation initiatives. A former St. Johns County Commissioner and longtime resident of St. Augustine Beach, Henry’s leadership strengthens our focus on protecting and expanding access to parks and open space.

Travis Ramsey
Executive Director of Retail Banking, JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Travis Ramsey is a 15-year resident of St. Johns County, a dedicated father of three, and a passionate advocate for youth sports. His children are active participants in county recreation programs, and Travis himself has coached several local teams. He also served for ten seasons as a JV and varsity basketball coach at Creekside High School. Early in his career, he worked for a rural Parks and Recreation Department in Virginia, where he saw firsthand the transformative power of accessible parks and programs. Travis brings strategic financial insight and a strong sense of purpose to our board.
Looking Ahead
Each of these leaders brings a unique lens to the table—from storytelling and financial strategy to conservation and public service. What unites them is a shared belief in the power of parks and recreation to improve lives, build community, and enhance our communities through recreation, which makes St. Johns County special.
We are grateful for their service and excited about the road ahead. Learn more
