As the Executive Director of the St. Johns County Parks Foundation, I understand the unique responsibility that comes with bridging nonprofit leadership, a local government partnership, and public trust. That’s why our membership with the National Association of Park Foundations (NAPF) is more than just a credential—it’s a strategic investment in our ability to lead with integrity, excellence, and accountability.
A National Network for Local Impact
NAPF is the only national organization dedicated exclusively to supporting local park foundations and “Friends of Parks” groups, just like ours.. With member organizations across the country, NAPF connects us to a powerful network of experts, including some of the most distinguished nationally respected foundations.
Real Tools. Real Support. Real Results.
NAPF offers more than membership—they deliver real-world solutions for the unique challenges we face. Whether through live webinars, policy consulting, fundraising toolkits, or direct one-on-one guidance, they have helped out foundation grow stronger and more effective. I’ve seen this firsthand: when our board had questions about governance and responsibility, Kevin Korenthal, NAPF’s Executive Director, met with us. He offered practical insight that helped ground our work, clarify roles, and reinforce a strong foundation for board leadership.
Why This Matters to Donors
To our donors, this partnership should be a point of pride and confidence. When you give to the St. Johns County Parks Foundation, you’re giving to an organization that is:
Held accountable by national best practices
Equipped with the tools and knowledge to steward your gifts responsibly
Connected to a nationwide community focused on excellence in parks philanthropy
Every dollar we raise is guided by strategy, rooted in transparency, and focused on our mission to enhance parks and recreation in St. Johns County.
Let’s Keep Building—Together
Being part of NAPF helps us lead responsibly, plan strategically, and grow sustainably. It’s one more way we’re working to ensure that the public spaces we all love—parks, trails, beaches, and community centers—continue to serve, inspire, and connect the people of St. Johns County.
