The St. Johns County Parks Foundation is proud to support groups that foster a love of recreation.

While Girls on the Run is a national movement, right here at home, eleven schools throughout St. Johns County participate in this empowering program for girls in grades 3–8. It helps them build confidence, foster connections, and develop healthy habits.
To help you keep up the pace, St. Johns County public parks offer the perfect backdrop for girls and their families to embrace the cooler months with scenic running spots! These parks provide an ideal environment for training and invite all residents to enjoy the natural beauty of our community. Some must-visit running trails include:

Nocatee Preserve Trail: Perfect for a peaceful jog surrounded by nature.
Veterans Park: A family-friendly loop around trees and a pond.
Treaty Park: A shaded trail that’s great for beginners.
Alpine Groves Park: Breathtaking waterfront views along the St. Johns River.
Whether you're preparing for the Girls on the Run 5K or simply looking to stay active this season, St. Johns County parks are the perfect starting point.
Here’s a list of the local schools offering Girls on the Run. Registration is open until January 31, 2025: Girls who are homeschooled are also welcome to participate in the program.
