This Veterans Day, the St. Johns County Parks Foundation proudly celebrates our veterans by sharing information about the programs and spaces that honor their service. Public parks like Veterans Park provide a place for remembrance and reflection, featuring monuments and flags representing each branch of the Armed Forces.
Alongside Veterans Park, St. Johns County Parks & Recreation offers a variety of free, veterans-only programs designed for learning and camaraderie:
Military Veteran Art: A monthly class at local parks and libraries where veterans can explore creative expression together.
Military Veteran Fishing: A free fishing class on our beautiful waters—an excellent way to connect with fellow veterans.
Paddleboarding, Kayaking, Archery, and Pickleball: These free programs invite veterans of all abilities to try something new, from exploring local waterways to friendly competition on the pickleball court.
St. Johns County Parks & Recreation invites veterans and all community members to explore a wide variety of programs. Whether you're new to an activity or simply curious, signing up for a program is a great way to try something different, meet new people, and enjoy our beautiful community spaces. Many programs are recurring, so there’s always another chance to join in. Take that first step—sign up here.
